Mia grew up in São Carlos, Brazil. After graduating and working as a magazine reporter, where she wrote about travel and culture, Mia moved to New York to pursue her Masters Degree in Publishing from Pace University. While interning at Writers House, she concluded that subsidiary rights was where her passion for books would align with her passion for different languages and cultures. She then landed at New Leaf, where she happily assists Kathleen Ortiz in all things rights-related.
She is obsessed with sunsets and her favorite word is saudade, a Portuguese word that defines the longing of something or someone; “the love that remains”.
